Millburn to Prepare Ten Year Master Plan Reexamination Report

The Millburn Planning Board is preparing a Master Plan Reexamination Report, entitled Millburn Forward, as it is required by state law to do every ten years.  The Master Plan is a general plan for the future of the municipality, providing a blueprint of what the town is like now and a vision of what we want our town to be in the future.  It provides a long-range view of helps to guide decisions about the future of land use and development, and provides the foundation of Millburn’s Development Regulations and Zoning Ordinance.

Milburn Forward will be a broad, 30,000 foot vision of our town which will provide us with a yardstick for consistency in the day to day decisions made by the governing body and the administrative staff of the municipality.  It is an important reference which will work properly only with input from all of the interest groups in town,” said Ken Leiby, Planning Board Chair.  “The master planning process provides an opportunity to bring together the development goals of residents, public officials, and key stakeholders.   The Planning Board cannot do this alone.”

The Planning Board will hold a public Visioning Session on Saturday, May 19th at 9:30 am at the Bauer Center.  Residents are invited to attend as part of the planning process and share ideas and concerns about various aspects of the community. Residents can also contribute their ideas by completing a short community survey at  or at Millburn Forward Facebook page @MillburnPlan18
