May 25, 2018:

On June 4, NJ American Water will begin a 5-6 week project to replace an 8 inch pipe on the Essex County portion of Old Short Hills Rd. The water utility is conducting this work in advance of Essex County’s repaving of Old Short Hills Rd. in July between the intersections of South Orange Ave. and Great Hills Rd.

Phase 1 will take place between the intersections of Silver Spring Rd. and Great Hills Rd. This work is expected to last 3 weeks. Once this is complete, work will commence between the intersections of Great Hills Rd. and Parsonage Hill Rd.

Work will not take place on June 7 or June 21 (MHS Graduation). NJ American Water plans to work between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm. Working hours will shift to 8:00am – 4:00pm once the school year ends.

Police Officers will setup detours and be onsite directing traffic. NJ American Water can be reached at 1-800-272-1325, and the Engineering Department can be reached at 973-564-7050.
