Private Sanitation

Residents are reminded to place trash and recycling at the curb prior to 6AM the day of their collection. Preferably, trash and recycling should be put out the night before the collection day. In the case of inclement weather, please refer to the the following website, www.gogreengiordano.com for updates on collections. The Township will also place alerts on the municipal website as well as the Township smartphone application when information regarding trash/recycling collection is made available.

Sanitation Holidays (No Trash or Recycling Collection)

If your trash and/or recycling day falls on any of the following holidays, there will be no trash service.  Please do not put cans to the curb on the following holidays:

July 4th

Labor Day


Christmas Day

New Years Day


On December 6, 2011 the Millburn Township Committee voted to privatize the Sanitation operations of the Township beginning January 1, 2012.  This page will be dedicated to updating residents on matters of trash/recycling pick-up.  Any information related to sanitation will be posted here. 

The garbage/recycling contract was awarded to Girodano Company, Inc. (Telephone:  (973) 242-2250 ext. 13)

The Type 13 (bulky waste pick-up from the DPW yard) was awarded to Suburban Disposal.
