Human Services

Purpose

The Municipal Welfare Department administers the General Assistance Program, a state funded program for eligible adults and childless couples. The Department also provides information and referral services and assists residents with applications for other programs.

NJ Department of Community Affairs

Utility Arrear Assistance: The NJ Department of Community Affairs has funds available to help cover water and sewer arrears. Visit the DCA website for more information: DCAid Services Custom Portal (nj.gov)


File of Life Card

The File of Life is a card that you fill out with your medical history, allergies and current medications. You then put this information in a magnetic holder and place it on your refrigerator.

In case of an emergency, your pertinent information is readily available to you or emergency personnel.

These cards and magnetic holder are available free of charge at the Township of Millburn Health Department during normal business hours. It may make a difference in a life threatening situation.

Pet License Renewals

It’s that time of year to renew your pet license. Please pay before March 1, 2024 to avoid the $10.00 late fee. Please check your email for the link/instructions to complete the form online. Rabies vaccination should be submitted with the license application and must be valid through October 31, 2024.  Any questions, contact the Registrar in Town Hall.

Recall Alert

Apple Cinnamon Fruit Puree Pouches

WanaBana USA is recalling its apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches due to elevated levels of lead found within them.  The pouches that may contain elevated levels of lead include the brands; WanaBana, Schnucks, and Weis.  If your child may have consumed any of these products, it is advised you contact their healthcare provider about getting a blood lead test.  More information in regards to the recall can be found at the FDA's website by clicking here.
