Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project

On or about Monday, April 12, the Township of Millburn will begin work on a Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project near the Middle School and at the Short Hills Train Station.

Construction at the Middle School is expected to be completed by Saturday, April 17, and at the Short Hills Train Station by Friday, April 23, weather permitting. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Roadways are expected to remain open throughout construction, however travel lanes may be narrowed. Please note that on-street parking will be suspended during working hours for the duration of construction and access to driveways within the work area will be restricted. Please arrange to move vehicles elsewhere if necessary during the project.

The project includes excavation of the roadway in order to construct a new curb and sidewalk along the southern curbline of Haddonfield Road between Whitney Road and the Middle School driveway, and excavation of the roadway in order to construct a new traffic island, ADA compliant curb ramps and a crosswalk at the intersection of Short Hills Avenue with Station Plaza and Crescent Place.

Questions may be directed to the Township Engineering Department at (973) 564-7050.
