Please be advised that Essex County will be performing prep work on Essex Street on Thursday, September 30 during the day. Weather permitting, paving is scheduled for overnight on Thursday and Friday, October 1. Sections of Essex Street will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic during paving.

Please be advised that Essex Street milling will be completed tonight, September 17. Paving is scheduled for the week of September 27, weather permitting. Updates to follow.

On or about Tuesday, September 14, Essex County is scheduled to begin overnight milling and paving of Essex Street from Millburn Avenue to Millburn Avenue as part of the Essex County 2021 Roadway Resurfacing Program. The project is expected to run through Thursday, September 23.
Work hours will run from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. While milling and paving work is taking place, sections of Essex Street will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic. Access to and from driveways may be permitted during operations. If you will need to leave your home or business during work hours, please make arrangements to park your vehicle at another location.
Detour signs will be in place. Please be advised that parking on Essex Street will be prohibited during the project. New traffic patterns and signs will be posted.
