Complete Streets Construction Update 9/7/2016

Main Street, between Essex Street and Millburn Ave, is now open for vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic. Please be aware of new traffic patterns.

The following traffic patterns regarding Main Street have changed:
• No left turn from Millburn Ave. to Main St.
• No left turn from Essex St. to Main St.
• No left turn from Main St. to Essex St.

Over the next week Flanagan’s Construction will be working on the following tasks:
Striping on Main Street roadway
Continuing to demo and prepare new sidewalks along Millburn Ave
Pouring concrete sidewalk and curbs on Millburn Ave
Preparing to set basalt pavers

*Access to stores on Millburn Ave (from Dunkin Donuts to Starbucks) will periodically have limited access due to the pouring of sidewalks. If possible, please use backdoor access to stores via the Courtyard.

Work completed during the week of 8/29/2016:
Opened Main Street
Placed conduits and foundation for lighting fixtures
Framed curbs and sidewalks and poured with concrete on Main Street, Essex Street and Millburn Ave

Phase 1 of Complete Streets construction is expected to last through the fall with an anticipated completion date in November. The Downtown area will remain open for business and pedestrian foot traffic during construction.
