Can I place the fire extinguisher in a cabinet or closet?
No. The extinguisher must be mounted 5 feet or less from the floor in the kitchen, visible and readily accessible. It must be near a room exit or travel path that provides an escape route to the exterior. Failure to do so will cause an inspection failure causing additional fees.
